Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

96-98 The 2022 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru was picked on the final day of harvest with the Les Suchots. It matured in 40% new oak like the Premier Crus, two of the five barrels. It has a powerful bouquet like the aforementioned Premier Cru, with layers of ripe red fruit, violets and blood orange. There is some reduction here, but that will disappear by bottling. The palate is velvety smooth on the entry with impressive depth and gentle grip. It has enthralling purity of fruit, intense to the point where you can almost overlook the filigree tannins. It fans out beautifully on the lingering finish, a Romanée-Saint-Vivant to the top drawer.

The bouquet of this beautiful Romanee-St.-Vivant is like a cloud of red fruit and summer flowers. Then you descend into the wonderful velvet of the palate that’s wrapped around a firm structure that should give it decades of life. Very long finish, where the fine tannins give this great textural complexity. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

The 2022 RSV from Domaine de l'Arlot has enough generous plummy fruit to open reasonably young. There is a good depth of flavour, with notes of earth, smoke, and game adding complexity. The texture is surprisingly substantial and profound, with an enjoyable lingering finish. This wine seems richer and more impactful than many bottlings from this site. The grapes come from a quarter of a hectare up the slope from the Dujac holding. The grapes are mostly destemmed before fermentation and ageing in cask (half new).
Winery Notes
It is always a privilege to taste a Romanée Saint Vivant. It is a rare emotion born from being close to a masterpiece of nature and man. It has a sumptuous, imposing appearance and is a bright ruby colour. The bouquet has a radiant richness passing from black cherries to raspberry jelly and blackberry cordial with violets. With age it develops notes of undergrowth and leather. This immense wine has expressive intensity and depth. It is smooth but not flabby, silky but structured, dense but elegant. Everything mingles and links together to create sublime complexity.
