Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

94-96 The 2015 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots is 100% whole bunch this year, the first time that this has been done and it was raised in two-thirds new oak. Frankly, I was concerned that might be too much, but on the contrary it is actually quite difficult to discern and it allows the mineralité to really shine through, tempering the usual opulence of this vineyard and offering something very focused and energetic. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tension and poise, well-judged acidity, razor-sharp precision with a very long, saline aftertaste. This is one of the best Les Suchots that I have encountered in the 2015 vintage, though it deserves several years in bottle.

The 2015 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru, 100% whole bunches, is a wine that I found difficult to assess after bottling. With two or three more years in bottle, the aromatics have certainly blossomed with wild strawberry, pressed rose petal and allspice, gaining intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity, quite harmonious with moderate depth. There is impressive weight towards the spicy finish, with just a splash of balsamic lending some edginess. This is showing very well but it will continue to improve in bottle. Tasted at the Domaine de L'Arlot tasting at La Cabotte in London.

A completely different aromatic profile offers up a wide variety of spice and floral elements, in particular rose petal and violet, that add a touch of elegance to the tea, cassis and dark cherry-scented nose. There is a rich, suave and velvety texture to the palate coating medium weight flavors that deliver excellent length on the firm but not really austere finish. This is a big Suchots and one that is also clearly built-to-age though the abundant sap should allow it to be enjoyed after 5 years or so though it will need 12 to 15 to reach its apogee.

Smooth on the palate with a great balance between an appealing spice character and freshness. Fine-grained tannins show that this is a delicate wine despite the power and tannic edge of many other 2015s. Dark cherry fruit with a raspberry leaf lift on the finish. 100% whole bunch.

Finesse, richness, complexity and harmony all come together and unite to show how complete this exceptional wine is. An iron hand in a velvet glove, it describes the fullness of the Pinot Noir with exceptional distinction, expressing a taut nervosity before resonating with richness and elegance. Its aromas evolve harmoniously with age. When young, the wine offers floral notes mingled with raspberry, morello cherries and blackcurrant. With time the aromas evolve and develop towards spices, liquorice, undergrowth and leather.
