A pungent combination of reduction and wood make for a difficult nose. By contrast, the natural refinement of a fine Combe d’Orveau is very much on display with really lovely mineral-driven flavors that possess plenty of underlying tension that imparts a real sense of vitality to the lilting finish that is also underpinned by silky tannins. Lovely stuff and well worth considering.

Gorgeous perfume of violets, jasmine and spices with firm acidity on the finish. Lovely wine with great balance. Drinking Window 2016 - 2023.

Bright medium red. Musky redcurrant, leather and game on the nose, complicated by a saline quality. Smooth and plump in the mouth, offering good balance to its moderately intense flavors of minerals, spices and earth. This wine started out youthfully stunted but with 24 hours in the recorked bottle higher-pitched notes of raspberry and blood orange emerged. Not at all showy today but should reward four or five years of cellaring.

Winery Notes

Bright garnet in colour with a delicate nose disclosing fruity and oaky notes. The palate reveals fruity, toasty notes such as black cherry and a firm tannic structure. An elegant, delicate and very distinctive wine. Serve with: Pigeon with grapes, duck breast with mushrooms, roast turkey.
