Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

Still deep ruby color. The expressive nose remains cool and fresh with its notes of menthol, wood, red and dark currant and pungent humus-inflected earth scents. The highly energetic broad-shouldered flavors are robust and muscular though not particularly rustic on the mineral-suffused finish that is still quite firm thanks to the somewhat strict tannins. This is a wine where it’s not quite accurate to describe it as tough but it would be fair to say that the ’02 is not a refined Corton. I would further observe that while it’s nowhere near ready, it’s also not clear that the fruit is going to outlast the structure. In short, this is presently in a bit of ‘no man’s land’ where it’s definitely not ready now but it may not necessarily repay extended keeping either. In short, pessimists will opt to drink this now with food and optimists will settle in for an extended holding period.

The beautifully and unforgettable French region of Cote De Beaune has been revered throughout the centuries, and recognized as one of the key producer's of the world's finest white wines. The region is highly respected as an excellent producer of Chardonnay wines, and the Chardonnay grapes which grow there, on the southern slopes of the Cote d'Or, are packed full of the unique and powerful characteristics of this very special terroir. Interestingly, Cote De Beaune produces more red wine than white wine, despite its white wines being so famous. The red wines of Cote De Beaune are mainly made from Pinot Noir, but are relatively very light and fruity in their character, perfect for sipping on a warm, sunny day alongside a wide range of foods.

Vinous Media
Good medium red with a hint of amber. Very dark aromas of blackberry, cassis, licorice and leather along with subtle notes of mushroom and underbrush; smells rather strenuously extracted. Then violety and vinous but quite dry and imploded, even a bit hard-edged, conveying a distinctly medicinal cast. There's a juiciness here but it's cut off on the back by tight tannins. This wine, too, struck me as a bit Cabernet-like, and unlikely to soften or expand with further bottle aging. Erwan Faiveley described 2002 as "a great vintage that we totally missed," owing to high yields and to the long macerations that were done that year "because the color was not coming." (13.7% alcohol; 3.4 pH; 3.9 g/l acidity; 44 h/h)
Winery Notes
Ruby red in colour with clear purple reflections. The nose is powerful, concentrated and exudes notes of black cherry and spice. The palate is rich and smooth with good energy and concentration. The finish is elegant. An excellent wine for cellar ageing.
Serve with: Seared foie gras with armagnac, game, quail, full-flavoured cheeses such as Cîteaux or Reblochon.
