Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

The 2012 Mazis Chambertin Grand Cru from Faiveley has a beguiling nose with brambly red berry fruit, damp earth, cold flagstone and just a faint smear of marmalade. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, supple tannin matched with assiduous acidity that lends tension and poise. It is quite backward, even compared to other grand cru 2012s, but there is the substance and the breeding here to suggest a seriously long and pleasurable evolution. This is one of the standouts of the Côte de Nuits.

92-95 Here the nose is quite similar to that of the Latricières save for the fact that the sauvage character is even more pronounced. As is typically the case there is also more size, weight, richness and power if a bit less refinement and minerality to the large-scaled flavors that also brim with dry extract that does a fine job of buffering the hugely long finish. If you prefer a bit more elegance, buy the Latricières, and if you prefer robust power, buy the Mazis, though there's no harm in liking both!

Full medium red. Rather wild aromas of raspberry, smoky minerals and pungent sandalwood. Then plush, tactile and savory in the mouth, displaying classically dry flavors of strawberry, raspberry and minerals. At once polished and youthfully clenched, this distinctly saline, highly concentrated wine finishes with almost painful length and an impression of weightlessness. Less sweet in the early going than Faiveley's stunning Clos de Bèze but showing much more verve and fruit intensity than a barrel sample did in November of 2013.

A pure, focused red, whose cherry, strawberry and leafy tobacco notes are enveloped by dense, dusty tannins. A bit gruff on the finish. Best from 2018 through 2029. 485 cases made, 80 cases imported.
Winery Notes
This wine reveals a deep ruby red hue and intense notes of oak, spice and red fruits on the nose. The palate offers the same aromas and the nose with a harmonious combination of fruity and oaky notes. With its smooth tannins and long, lingering finish, this well-balanced wine is the epitome of elegance.
