The 2022 Les Romains combines tenderness and tension. The palate richness could result from the warm, dry vintage, the clay of this clay-flint vineyard and/or a year on lees in concrete eggs. It's likely a combination of all three. This has rich concentration from high density and low yields. It retains a lively crispness and sense of brightness, which is often seen in wines planted on the flinty side of the Sancerre fault line. Orchard fruit joins ripe citrus, honey and a subtle elderflower note on the medium-length finish.
