A more restrained but equally complex nose offers up notes of ripe raspberry, dark berry liqueur, spice and plenty of pungent earth, all of which is trimmed in enough wood to notice. There is good power and richness to the robust and overtly powerful big-bodied flavors that are shaped by firm but not hard tannins before culminating in a balanced and impressively long finish. This is a big and youthfully austere effort yet my sense is that this will likely be approachable after only 5ish years if desired. (Burghound)
