90-92 Enough wood to merit pointing out can be found on the ripe aromas that also possess a vague suggestion of the exotic with its notes of lychee, citrus confit and white peach. There is outstanding volume to the rich to the point of opulence medium-bodied flavors that possess fine mid-palate density, all wrapped in a youthfully austere and firm finale that exhibits very good length. Like the Clos de Mazeray, this isn’t especially refined but it does offer fine size and weight as well as good power.
