Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

The 2015 Musigny Grand Cru perhaps somewhat predictably has the most sophisticated bouquet amongst Prieur’s red wines, with mulberry and blackberry notes infused with cold stone and subtle sous-bois aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe tannin that feel quite “bony” at the moment, although it will mellow and gain more harmony. There is very fine focus on the finish with attractive salinity on the finish. Afford this a decade in the cellar if you can.

An ultra-spicy and pure nose offers up notes of black raspberry, sandalwood and in the same fashion as the Ech, Asian-style exotic tea scents. There is a highly polished mouth feel to the impressively dense, serious and muscular flavors that exhibit plenty of minerality on the exceptionally firm finale where a hint of mocha appears. This beauty appears to have everything that it needs for a very long life. I would observe that the Prieur Musigny is often quite fine and sophisticated yet the 2015 version is not cut from that cloth; rather it is big, bold and robust and as I noted, is going to need time.

Deep red with ruby tones. Brooding aromas of black cherry, blueberry and chocolate are ripe and powerful but less expressive today than the Echézeaux and more marked by the vintage's solaire character (the pH is also a bit higher than that of the Echézeaux, as there's significantly less tartaric acidity here). Dense and velvety-thick; a clearly warmer style than the Echézeaux, with its black fruit and mineral flavors showing a chocolatey ripeness. A bit clenched and monolithic for young Musigny, finishing with building tannins and terrific length, this tight ball of a wine will need a long time in the cellar to express itself fully. But will it ever display the class of the Echézeaux?
Winery Notes
Intense ruby red with dark purple rim. Refined with subtle floral (violet) and slightly peppery notes. Flavorful, fruity, spiced, licorice and slightly mentholated notes. Sumptuous, dense and extremely elegant tannins on the finish.
