Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

This vintage included a proportion of botrytised grapes, a growing rarity these days on Hermitage due to the increasingly hot, dry growing seasons. It brings a touch of white rose to the almond and marzipan aromas. It’s at a perfect stage to drink now – honeyed but fresh still. Quince, honeycomb and butterscotch on the palate, all lifted by a fresh lemon verbena note. Rich, balanced, just so classic and so delicious. A wine you can wrap yourself in like a duvet.

The Rhone Valley of southern France is a particularly fascinating wine region, with a history that stretches back to at least six hundred BCE, when the ancient Greeks first began cultivating vines there. A vintage Jean Louis thinks is best for drinking today, the 1997 Hermitage Blanc is elegant and silky, with the classic minerality, honeyed citrus, orange blossom and licorice characteristics these wines always show at maturity. Medium to full-bodied, balanced, and seamless, it still has plenty of mid-palate depth and should continue drinking nicely for another 5-10 years, but don't hold off too long here.

Complex, pure aromas of peach, apple, honey, acacia flower, linden and hawthorn. Offers great richness allied with floral lift. Almost miraculously elegant and not at all heavy. Finishes with outstanding persistence-and surprisingly dry given the wine opulence. This actually finished with a bit over two grams per liter residual sugar, said Chave, who added that it might well have turned out topheavy had he fermented with commercial yeasts (the less efficient wild yeasts tend to produce more glycerine and a bit less alcohol). An extraordinary white Hermitage.
