Dense and persistent, yet it overall reveals a sense of elegance and refinement, which should become more evident with time. Offers excellent length, with a mineral underpinning. Best from 2025 through 2042. 300 cases made, 40 cases imported.

More discreet wood influence is present on the slightly less ripe but spicier and more floral nose displays fresh fruit that derives more from the red side of the fruit spectrum. There is both very good intensity and density to the powerful and tautly muscular flavors that culminate in a robust and impressively persistent finish. This isn't an elegant wine, but it offers much to like in an age-worthy package. Patience again advised.

The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Aux Brûlées 1er Cru was showing a little reduction on the nose, although underneath you can find plenty of blackberry and blueberry fruit. The palate is balanced with firm tannins, showing just a little bit of alcohol on the finish, though there is a pleasant spicy aftertaste. It needs to pull up its socks to compete with its peers, though.
