The 2017 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru includes 25% whole bunches, matured in around 40% new oak. It has a very different bouquet from the Mazoyères: more gamy and savory, probably because of the whole bunch; hints of wild heather emerge with time. The taut, linear palate is supple in the mouth with fine acidity, but lacks a little complexity on the finish compared to the Mazoyères.
