It highlights all of Grenache’s red-fruited delights and soft, pillowy tannins along with a twist of Syrah’s peppery, brambly spice. Delightful young, it should maintain peak through 2030 at least.
The Rhone region of France has been producing superb quality white blended wines for centuries, and is a region highly respected and esteemed around the world, with plenty of New World countries keen to emulate the styles and techniques displayed by the historic wineries and skilled vintners of the area. The secret to the Rhone's success when it comes to blended white wines is the careful and expert selection of certain grape varietals, which each lend special features to the blended wine and bring balance and harmony to the bottle. Most commonly, blended white Rhone wines feature no more than two grapes of either the Viognier, Rousanne, Marsanne or Grenache Blanc varietals, and are renowned for their exceptional flavors and highly aromatic, floral character.

The Rhone Valley of southern France is a particularly fascinating wine region, with a history that stretches back to at least six hundred BCE, when the ancient Greeks first began cultivating vines there. The region itself is split into two distinct sub-regions, with the northern sub-region being famed for its production of exceptional Syrah, Marsanne, Roussane and Viognier wines, packed full of interesting character and expressing the terroir found there. The southern sub-region is home to an enormous variety of grapes, and produces red, white and rosé wines, and some of the world's most famous and adored blended wines. The continental climate of the region is ideal for growing grapes, and the winds which blow from the Central Massif help temper the heat in the vineyards, leading to very ripe fruits holding plenty of flavor.

Chateauneuf Du Pape
Châteauneuf-du-Pape, an illustrious wine appellation in the Southern Rhône Valley, France, stands as a vinous icon recognized for its robust red blends. What makes Châteauneuf-du-Pape unique is its historic heritage, boasting ancient vineyards and a rich winemaking tradition dating back to the papal residence in Avignon. The region allows an assemblage of up to 13 grape varieties, prominently featuring Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. The distinctive galets, large round stones that retain heat, dotting the vineyards contribute to the wines' complexity and distinctive character.
Châteauneuf-du-Pape reds are known for their full-bodied nature, rich dark fruit flavors, and a medley of spices, all underscored by a unique herbaceous quality known as garrigue. Brilliant ruby-red. Strongly perfumed scents of ripe red fruits and lavender are accompanied by exotic spice and blood orange nuances. Supple and expansive on the palate, offering sweet raspberry, cherry and floral pastille flavors underscored by a smoky mineral element. Well-concentrated but lithe as well, finishing juicy and quite long, with lingering, spice-tinged red fruit character and slow-building tannins.

The 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Des Deux Soeurs is 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah, all aged in concrete. It’s a classic, peppery, garrigue, and savory cherry-driven 2019 offering ripe tannins, plenty of mid-palate depth, and a great finish.
Winery Notes
It exhibits plenty of kirsch, toasted bread, caramelized meats and spice on the nose. Medium-bodied, supple, pure and elegant, with a finesse-driven style and pretty tannin, it is already upfront and approachable.
