Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

93-95 The 2021 Pommard Les Rugiens 1er Cru comprises seven barrels (one-year-old) with 20% whole bunches. The nose presents notes of brambly red fruit with loam and hints of rose petals and sage – there is fine complexity here. The palate is very refined, with ample vibrant red fruit and a judicious dab of white pepper. This wine is gourmand towards its fine-boned finish. Wonderful.

Clerget produced fully six barrels of the 2021 Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens, opting to use once-used barrels for the whole cuvée. Unwinding in the glass to reveal notes of red berries, plums, orange rind and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and textural, with an ample mid-palate and powdery structuring tannins.

A distinctly cool nose is comprised of the ultra-pure aromas of essence of various red berries, rose petal, earth and a subtle touch of wood. The rich, concentrated and muscular larger-scaled flavors brim with minerality while delivering superb length on the linear, youthfully austere and very firm finale. While this could be approached after 7 to 8 years, it should easily repay 12 to 15 years of cellaring. Excellent and absolutely worth your interest.

This delicious Rugiens encompasses all of Pommard's firm, tannic appeal, but there is a silky, velvety side as well. The plummy fruit is very forward on the nose and shows a charming nuance of earth, cigar leaf, and mineral. The texture is lush and sensuous without lacking any of the typicity of Pommard. Thibaud farms 0.85 hectares of 45 year-old vines in Rugiens Haut. His yield was seven barrels instead of the customary twenty, which he fermented as 20% whole clusters and is now aging with no new casks.
