91-94 A subtly floral-suffused nose offers up notes of poached plum, dark raspberry and lovely spice nuances. The sleek and almost painfully intense medium weight flavors possess both good power and minerality that seems to become more obvious on the youthfully austere and impressively persistent finish. Excellent but patience advised.

Interestingly, Cote De Beaune produces more red wine than white wine, despite its white wines being so famous. The red wines of Cote De Beaune are mainly made from Pinot Noir, but are relatively very light and fruity in their character, perfect for sipping on a warm, sunny day alongside a wide range of foods.

The 2020 Volnay 1er Cru Les Santenots offers up aromas of sweet cherries, plums, raw cocoa and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless palate that's suave, elegant and enveloping.

90-92 The 2020 Volnay Les Santenots 1er Cru contains 20% whole bunch with 20% new oak with zero pigeage, more like a infusion during the maceration. The nose sported a very slight reduction, dark berries, touches of loam and candied orange peel. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fleshy and ripe, quite grippy towards the finish where I would just like to see a little more tension.

Probably the most powerful Volnay in the estate. Even if it is fierce, the pleasure is instantaneous.
