Pale straw-yellow. Perfumed aromas and flavors of white flowers, orchard fruit and sweet spices. Long and clean, with an enticing juiciness and a charming fruity quality lingering nicely on the round but bright finish. More vibrant and focused than last year’s version of Crémant Les Natures. Made from organically grown grapes, this soft, fruity wine is a real crowd-pleaser and a very important wine for J.B. Adam, as wine lovers strongly associate the domaine with its production. The label says Brut, but at 4.7 g/L r.s. it could be labeled as an Extra Brut (the higher limit for this sparkling category in Alsace, as in Champagne, is 6 g/L r.s); in fact, thanks to its glyceral ripeness and fruitiness, I think the Brut category suits this wine best and is the right choice. Made with a blend of Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay grown around Ammerschwihr on mostly granite soils. About 20,000 bottles per year.
