Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

The 2012 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru comes from Drouhin’s two parcels, one occupying a better location than the other. It has a fine, well-defined bouquet, quite pointed at first with citrus peel infusing the red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a soft, supple opening. There is a sense of lushness here, imbued with fine acidity and there is a crescendo toward the wild strawberry-driven, creamy finish. Very fine.

Drouhin's 2012 Clos de Vougeot is incisive and powerful to the core, the 2012 Clos de Vougeot is laced with iron, smoke, graphite and dried red cherries. The tannins are massive, so readers will have to be patient, but there is a lot to look forward to. Rose petals, savory herbs and anise all add complexity on the intense finish. This is a fabulous showing from Drouhin.

A discreet but not invisible application of wood highlights markedly earthy aromas of both red and dark berries, sauvage hints and underbrush. There is good verve to the delicious, intense and broad-shouldered flavors that possess very solid density as well as plenty of dry extract that does a fine job of buffering the very firm tannic spine on the impressively long finish. This would not be a good candidate for early drinking as the finish is classic Clos de Vougeot with its youthful austerity.
Winery Notes
A revelation and a true wonder! The ruby red colour is magnificent and takes on a deeper hue with age. The aromas are intense and evoke raspberry and wild cherry, becoming more complex with age: undergrowth, truffle, candied fruit. A sublime structure, with refined tannins. It is a perfect example of this ideal of elegance according to Drouhin. A remarkable balance and a lingering persistence of flavors on the palate. It is a wine that always leaves the greatest impression.
