There are few regions in the world with stricter regulations in regards to wine production and grape varietals than those found in Bordeaux, France. Here, in the home of the world's finest wines, the type and quality of grapes used is of utmost importance, and the legendary wineries which work on the banks of the Gironde river have mastered the careful art of juice blending to find the perfect balance for their produce. Deep purple-hued, the 2023 Le Petit Lion is a gorgeous second wine offering cassis and darker currant fruits intermixed with graphite, flowers, and spicy wood. Based on 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, and 8% Cabernet Franc and aged 14 months in 30% new French oak, it's medium to full-bodied, with a pure, layered, seamless mouthfeel, ripe and incredibly polished tannins, and outstanding length. It has some early accessibility, yet this will have two decades or more of longevity as well. This is the first vintage produced in the new cellar. Drink 2028-2048.
