89-91 The 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis en la Rue de Vergy, including around two-thirds whole bunches, has a well-defined bouquet. The stems are fairly noticeable at present, though that will be soaked up by the fruit with time. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy, fine tannins. The 2021 is harmonious and quite crunchy; blackberry commingles with tar and subtle tobacco notes towards its satisfying finish. Good potential, but patience required.
