Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

The 2020 Pinot Noir Bodega Ridge Vineyard is the second iteration of this single-vineyard cuvée from Occidental. It comes from the Bodega Ridge property, where Steve Kistler began developing 65 acres of Pinot Noir in 2012. The first single-vineyard cuvée from this property was the 2016 Running Fence Vineyard. The Bodega Ridge comes from 25 acres at the top of the property, planted mainly on southwest-facing slopes behind the tasting room, overlooking the Running Fence Vineyard (it also borders Joseph Phelps’s Quarter Moon Vineyard). It’s bursting with vivid aromatics—blueberry and lavender—and are supplemented by wafts of forest floor, blood orange, licorice and stony streaks. The palate is delicate and ethereal, framed by chalky tannins and shimmery acidity, although it still offers a generous core of nuanced fruit, and it finishes with a fan of spicy accents. Normally, I would say to give it a few years in the cellar, but because of the challenges of the vintage, there’s no reason not to enjoy it in its youth.

Medium ruby-purple in color, the 2020 Bodega Ridge Vineyard is a little closed to begin, offering broody charcoal and fertile loam scents before opening out to an evocative core of juicy blackberries, black cherries, and pomegranate, followed by nuances of star anise, cardamom, and black tea. The 2020 Pinot Noir Bodega Ridge is bright and effusive. Floral and mineral notes give the 2020 tons of lift and a good bit of energy, too. Blue/purplish fruit, gravel, spice, lavender and dried herbs all run through this vibrant, linear Pinot Noir. The purity of the fruit is striking. Like all of these wines, the Bodega Ridge is a bit linear, but it's a style that works well, and that is typical of the wines this year.
