Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

Ice Wine, or Eiswein, is a luscious dessert wine made from grapes that have naturally frozen on the vine. This process concentrates the sugars, resulting in a sweet, rich wine with intense flavors of tropical fruits, honey, and apricots. Originating from Germany and Canada, Ice Wine is typically made from Riesling, Vidal Blanc, or Gewürztraminer grapes. Harvesting takes place in the early morning hours when temperatures drop below -8°C (17°F), ensuring the grapes remain frozen during pressing. The yield is small, making Ice Wine a rare and expensive treat. Its vibrant acidity balances the sweetness, creating a harmonious and refreshing finish. Ice Wine pairs beautifully with fruit-based desserts, blue cheeses, or enjoyed on its own as a decadent finale to a meal.

Canada has been producing quality wines for over two hundred years, and has hundreds of established wineries producing characterful and easily recognizable wines from the many imported grape varietals which flourish in the cool climate and excellent soils which typify the region. The primary wine producing regions of Canada are all located in the south of the country, and benefit from the consistent climate found there. The two largest wine producing regions is Canada are the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, and Niagara Peninsula, in Ontario. Both of these regions produce large quantities of the ice wine Canada is famous for, where the grapes are allowed to freeze on the vine during the early frosts, and thus have their sugars and flavors concentrated, resulting in highly aromatic and often very sweet wines.

Winery Notes
The moment the thermometre hit -10°C, the Vidal grapes for this Icewine were carefully picked by hand from Niagara-on-the-Lake vineyards. The frozen grapes were then pressed to release the treasured drop of pure extract from each grape. Cool fermentation helped the wine retain fruit concentration and four months of aging in older French and American oak added complexity. The luscious mouthfeel explodes with flavours of papaya, guava, gooseberry and melon. Notes of exotic spice and marmalade linger on the finish, with a final hit of butterscotch, which speaks to the wine's oak aging. This Icewine pairs beautifully with savoury options including paté, foie gras, prosciutto with melon, Thai mango salad, spicy Asian cuisine and Indian curries. After a meal, serve with fruit-based desserts featuring apricots, pears, sweet citrus and tropical fruit. Other delicious dessert pairings include nut-based cakes, Christmas cake and spiced fig cake. Soft, blue-veined cheeses, creamy brie and aged cheddars also do particularly well with this Icewine.
