Inspired by Saša Radikon, the NV RS23 (“Rosso Saša”) is based on the 2023 vintage and blends Merlot with about 25% Pignolo. The varieties are fermented separately due to different ripening times—Pignolo is notably later—before being combined, with around eight days of maceration and some time in wood. Rather than heavy tannins, the wine shows a spicy, structured profile, with Pignolo contributing aromatic lift and a firm backbone. Notes of cedar and warm baking spice give a subtle “Christmas spice” character, balanced by freshness and a clean finish.
