Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

This unoaked wine opens to a luminous straw-gold color and shows notes of orchard fruit, honey and crushed coarse salt. In fact, that marine minerality is the protagonist. It is incredible how much one more year of bottle age makes. I compare this wine to the 2023 vintage, which I also tasted.
Assyrtiko is a white grape variety native to the island of Santorini in Greece, renowned for its ability to thrive in arid and volcanic soils. It produces wines that are mineral-driven, high in acidity, and deeply expressive of their terroir. Assyrtiko wines are characterized by their citrus flavors, particularly lemon and grapefruit, along with notes of saline minerality and hints of herbs like thyme. They are typically bone-dry with a crisp acidity and a steely texture, making them refreshing and versatile for pairing with a variety of foods. What makes Assyrtiko unique is its resilience; it can withstand high temperatures and strong winds, conditions that are challenging for most grape varieties. The grape's ability to retain acidity even in intense heat contributes to the longevity and age-worthiness of Assyrtiko wines, which can develop richer flavors and complex aromas with time.

There is far more to Greek wine than merely Retsina, however, and the vast variety on offer is a testament to the expertise of Greek wineries making the most of the wonderful climate, terrain and grape varietals they work with.

Winery Notes
100% Assyrtiko grown in volcanic soils in the villages of Pyrgos and Imerovigli. Vines are 40-60 years old, grown on their own rootstock, and trained into kouloures, the traditional basket shape, to protect from wind and conserve water. Destemmed, macerated for six hours. Fermented and raised in stainless steel.
