Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

The 2019 Cabernet Franc Caya is a blend from five different vineyards. It also has about 17% Merlot from 1990 vines, all aged for about 20 months in 27% new French barriques (the rest of varying ages). It comes in at 13.6% alcohol. This is a beauty this year, but there are some questions. Let’s hope it develops well to justify my enthusiasm and merit an uptick in score. In the meanwhile, it is approachable today and very sexy for a Cab Franc. It seems relatively full-bodied this year, coating the palate and showing subtle grip on the finish.
There are two quibbles. First, at the moment, this is too tinged with new wood, the key drawback. Even now, though, you can taste some classic Cab Franc underneath. If it can pull the wood in better and develop a bit in the cellar, it will be a bigger winner. That might only require a year or two. Today, it will produce some oohs and aahs anyway, as it seems very ready to drink. Second, a bigger concern, might be its softness. I’m less than certain it has the backbone to hold gracefully for an extended time. In theory, holding this should solve the wood problem and then it should develop from there, but it has to prove it can hold and develop well. No matter what, this is going to be a crowd-pleaser, but it might also be something more. There were 1,283 cases produced.
Cabernet Franc is not simply an important grape varietal for the fact that it is one of the most widely grown strains of vine in the world, but also because it is a vital grape in the production of many of the finest wines the world has ever seen. For centuries in its native France, it has been a varietal synonymous with elegance and high quality, and has become a key fruit in the production of the Bordeaux and Bordeaux-style blended wines which have gone down in history thanks to their magnificent flavors, aromas and levels of aged complexity. However, Cabernet Franc is also a wine grape varietal for use in single variety, unblended wines, and has plenty to offer on its own. Most commonly, it is renowned for its wide bouquet, which often includes fascinating notes of tobacco, violets or bell pepper over a beautifully pale and decadent liquid.

Of all the New World wine countries, perhaps the one which has demonstrated the most flair for producing high quality wines - using a combination of traditional and forward-thinking contemporary methods - has been the United States of America. For the past couple of centuries, the United States has set about transforming much of its suitable land into vast vineyards, capable of supporting a wide variety of world-class grape varietals which thrive on both the Atlantic and the Pacific coastlines. Of course, we immediately think of sun-drenched California in regards to American wines, with its enormous vineyards responsible for the New World's finest examples of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot based wines, but many other states have taken to viticulture in a big way, with impressive results. Oregon, Washington State and New York have all developed sophisticated and technologically advanced wine cultures of their own, and the output of U.S wineries is increasing each year as more and more people are converted to their produce.

New York state has a wine history which stretches back to the mid-17th century, when Dutch settlers first began cultivating grape vines in the Hudson Valley. Since then, the wine industry of New York has grown from strength to strength, mixing the old with the new as wineries continue to experiment with modern techniques alongside their traditional heritage. Indeed, certain wineries in New York state hold a claim to being amongst the oldest and most well established in the New World, with at least one dating back over three hundred and fifty years. New York state is responsible for a relatively small range of grape varietals, due to its cooler, damper climate, but many varietals such as Riesling and Seyval Blanc thrive in such conditions and produce wines a of singular quality.

Winery Notes
Dark red brick in color. Classic aroma is filling the glass. Cassis, light toasted sandalwood, roasted almonds, licorice, and ripe plums. The mouth-feel is rich but elegant. Fine dark cherry and fig notes are surrounded by well-integrated toasted oak and layers of velvet tannins. There is nice concentration of the fruit and a smooth but lively long finish. This is a beautiful Cabernet Franc, fruit driven, sophisticated and balanced. The perfect partner to food.
