Long-term Pre-arrival Items

Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.

Long Term Pre-arrival  sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.

Case Only Items

This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.

El Enemigo

El Enemigo logo

El Enemigo, which translates to ‘the enemy,’ acknowledges the inner struggles faced by individuals at the culmination of their journeys. It symbolizes the internal battles we all endure, shaping our identities. The wines crafted under the El Enemigo label pay homage to these personal conflicts, masterfully blended by winemaker Alejandro Vigil and historian Adrianna Catena. Their shared passion for wine, coupled with a reverence for Argentina’s immigrant history, inspired them to create wines that echo the refinement sought by European settlers in the country’s early winemaking days. By 1936, Malbec and Petit Verdot had emerged as the most prominent varietals, blending tradition with innovation.

El Enemigo Aleanna Winery

The winemaking philosophy of El Enemigo finds expression at BESA, situated in the Vista Flores district of Tunuyán, Mendoza. Named after the unique landscape of Mendoza’s high-altitude winemaking region, nestled among the Andes Mountains, BESA is where Alejandro Vigil, a seasoned soil expert, winemaker, and agronomist, brings his expertise to fruition.

Meanwhile, Adrianna Catena, daughter of Nicolás Catena, brings her scholarly background in Early Modern Iberian Atlantic history to the table. With a Master’s Degree from the University of Oxford, her ambition is to carry forward her family’s winemaking legacy while indulging her love for history and literature, envisaging a future of crafting wines from a quaint cottage ensconced in the vineyards of the Argentine Andes.
