The domaine also makes three distinct village wine bottlings, from three of the best lieux à dits in Meursault: Sous la Velle, Grands Charrons, and Chevalières.The Grands Charrons bottling is the nuttier of the three premier crus — “the most Meursault-y” says Bernard — with honeyed notes of apple and peach coupled with toasty hazelnut tones and a bit of iodine. The 2019 is voluminous with exceptional life.

Of all the white wine grape varietals, surely the one that has spread the furthest and is most widely appreciated is Chardonnay.
