The 2022 Meursault Les Charmes-Dessus 1er Cru felt affected by that summer’s heat when I tasted it from barrel, but in bottle it shows much better. It is much more closed on the nose compared to its peers: honeysuckle, candle wax, lightly honeyed notes. The palate is medium-bodied with a crisp line of acidity on the entry, though overall the complexity is latent and only develops after 10 to 15 minutes, demonstrating impressive usage of oak, the finish tender but long. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
