Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

94-96 The 2022 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru is deep and brooding, unwinding in the glass with aromas of minty cherries and dark berries mingled with spiced plums, orange zest and peony. Full-bodied, broad and enveloping, with an ample core of fruit framed by supple tannins and animated by bright acids, it concludes with a pure, saline finish.

94-96 The 2022 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru is missing the same cohesion and presence as the Latricières at the moment, though it has an attractive rose bush/potpourri scent that emerges with time. The medium-bodied palate has a tad more angularity than the Latricières and fine mineralité, edgy and linear with a strict, tensile, lightly spiced finish. What you might term a "grower", aloof, but the sapidity draws you back. Excellent.

93-95 Toasty reduction knocks down the nose but there is fine freshness and richness to the suave and seductively textured bigger-bodied flavors that are generously proportioned while displaying both good tension and complexity on the impressively persistent and more powerful, if less refined, finish where a hint of wood appears. This isn't quite as mineral-driven but save for a subtle touch of warmth, it's beautifully balanced and should amply repay extended cellaring.

Faiveley has 1.56 hectares spread over several parcels in Mazis – mostly in Mazis-Haut but a small parcel in Mazis-Bas. This Mazis is a substantial wine but without quite the structure and depth of the Latricières. The forward cherry fruit with an earthy component is charming; technical director Jérôme Flous describes the earthiness as 'iron-rich, almost bloody'; the wine echos memorably on the finish. This wine will drink well after three to five years of cellaring and should continue improving for at least another 20 years after that.
Winery Notes
This wine reveals a deep ruby red hue and intense notes of oak, spice and red fruits on the nose. The palate offers the same aromas and the nose with a harmonious combination of fruity and oaky notes. With its smooth tannins and long, lingering finish, this well-balanced wine is the epitome of elegance.
Serve with: Steak in a mushroom sauce, game stew, glazed duck breast, roast saddle of lamb.
