This has a very strong array of white stone-fruit aromas, ripe pears, lemons and grapefruit. The palate is assertively fleshy and flavorsome, showing good ripeness with yellow-fleshed stone fruit and lemons. Super dry, but great fruit presence here.

The sparkling wines of Champagne have been revered by wine drinkers for hundreds of years, and even today they maintain their reputation for excellence of flavor and character, and are consistently associated with quality, decadence, and a cause for celebration. The beautiful rolling hillsides of the Champagne region of France have, for hundreds of years, been producing many of the world's most famous wines. The sparkling white wines to come out of Champagne's prestigious wineries have conquered the world, and are drank in celebration across the globe. The vast majority of the region is under vine, and grows predominantly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grape varietals, which are usually blended together by master wine-makers in order to make their recognizable and widely loved produce. The north-easterly region of Champagne has a relatively cool climate, and quite a lot of rainfall, making it far from ideal for ripening grapes. However, the presence of heavily forested areas in the region helps maintain a balanced temperature, and the generations of expertise the wineries hold clearly produces excellent results in spite of the climatic problems.

The NV Extra Brut Complantée Grand Cru (base 2021) Wiry and saline, the NV Extra Brut Complantée Grand Cru is classic Agrapart all the way. As a reminder, the Complantée is a blend of Pinot Noir, Meunier, Pinot Blanc, Arbane, Petit Meslier and Chardonnay. Readers who like vibrant, floral Champagnes will adore this. Tense and sculpted to the core , the Complantée is so expressive in this tasting. Citrus oil, chalk, mint, white pepper and crushed rocks bristle with energy. Dosage is 3 grams per liter. Disgorged: June 2025; multiple disgorgements throughout the year.

The latest NV Extra Brut Grand Cru Complantée, disgorged in September 2025 with a dosage of three grams per liter, derives entirely from the 2021 vintage. Opening in the glass with aromas of lemon oil, pear, lychee and a hint of sage, it is a medium-bodied, chiseled wine with taut musculature, driven by bracing acidity and concluding with a long, incisive finish. As ever, it is derived from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Blanc, Arbanne and Petit Meslier, planted in 2003 and 2015 within the same three plots in the commune of Avize and harvested on the same day.
