Finely scented and complex with black cherry, festive spices, tea leaves and a hint of black olive that linger long on the sinewy, drawn-out finish. You can expect your mouth to be swathed in an attractive chalky texture.

The 2019 Sancerre Génération Dix-Neuf (XIX) Rouge is dark and intense as well as elegant and pure on the dense, concentrated but fresh, spicy and aromatic nose that combines reductive and oxidative features. On the palate, this is a full-bodied, generous, intense, pretty fleshy and seriously structured Pinot Noir with firm but juicy tannins and generous fruit and intensity. This is a remarkably good red wine from Sancerre. 14.5% stated alcohol. Diam cork. Tasted in December 2022.
