The 2021 Morgon Vieilles Vignes, which I have tasted before, still has that compelling bouquet of pain d'épices and light wild heather scents. The palate is medium-bodied and open-knit with a touch of sappy red berry fruit, a keen line of acidity, light allspice notes and a touch of mint on the finish. This is excellent.

This Morgon "Vielles Vignes" cuvee is made from two plots: one of 150-year-old gamay (pre-phylloxera) yielding roughly 10HL/ha and another of 80-year-old gamay.
