Arietta On The White Keys 2024 750ml

#40 in Top 100 Wines of the USA, 2025. Aromas of yellow apples, honeysuckle, preserved lemons, struck matches and crushed stones. The palate is mid-weighted with bright acidity and a generous texture. Its mineral drive is supported by underlying power and tension. Made from 79% sauvignon blanc and 21% semillon. Drink or hold.

Arietta's 2024 On The White Keys is a 79-21 blend of Sauvignon Blanc sourced from Hyde (Carneros) and Farina (Sonoma Mountain) and Sémillon from Hyde, barrel-fermented in a mix of stainless steel and French oak (32% new). The oak is measured and balanced, with the fruit—in the form of stone fruit, fig and melon notes—dominating. Medium- to full-bodied, ripe and round, this excellent white wine finishes silky-textured and lush.

The 2024 On The White Keys is brisk, aromatic and super inviting. Green pear, jasmine, chalk, mint and white flowers are all finely sculpted in this steely, taut Sauvignon Blanc. A whole range of floral and tropical overtones lift the long, chiseled finish.

A distinctive white, with tart apple and fresh lemony notes that are fresh and crisp up front on a medium body. Offers complex elements of beeswax, chive blossoms, oregano and candied citrus peel. Finds harmony on the finish, where dried floral details linger. Drink now. 550 cases made.

The latest vintage of the Arietta on the White Keys lands precisely on target, hitting the notes we look for in serious white wine, with a rather textbook growing season coming on the heels of a prolonged drought. The blend of 84% Sauvignon Blanc and 16% Semillon is woven together like fine fabric, the high, floral and tropical tones of the Sauvignon Blanc being held up by the deep, viscous, honeyed character of the Semillon. Whole cluster pressed, the juice was fermented in a combination of Stainless Steel barrels, neutral oak, and new French Oak. Only a small number of barrels were allowed to complete malolactic fermentation, which allows the natural acidity and freshness of the wine to stay in the foreground. A recent vertical tasting of On the White Keys showed the great promise of these wines for bottle aging, back to the first vintages made more than a decade ago. The 2024 will be no exception. Years in the bottle will add depth and interest to the wine, but right now the fresh, pure fruit character is seductive. Our longtime sources of fruit for the White Keys are hillside Sauvignon Blanc from the Farina Vineyard on Sonoma Mountain, and Sauvignon Musque and Semillon from the Hyde Vineyard on the Napa side of Carneros.
