Frappato

Frappato is a red grape variety native to Sicily, particularly associated with the southeastern region around the town of Vittoria. It produces wines that are light-bodied, aromatic, and known for their bright acidity. Frappato wines typically exhibit flavors of red berries such as raspberry and strawberry, along with floral notes of violet and a hint of spice. Indeed, Sicilian wineries are famed for their ability to capture something of the sun-drenched region in their wines, and the vines they cultivate benefit enormously from the almost constant sunshine and the incredibly fertile volcanic soils which typify the island.
