Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

Perfumed nose, smells rich and inviting. Juicy, supple and clean – this has bite and tang as well as clear depth and concentration. Excellent profile, it has weight but a lovely sleek texture, ripe fruit but cool freshness. It’s serious no doubt, with concentration but really delivers a full, bright, juicy, intense and appealing glass of wine with nuance and detail. Great acidity, lovely tang, mineral salty stone notes and long length. Still tense, needs to soften, but this is excellent. Harvest 12-28 September. Yield of 38hl/ha.
There are few regions in the world with stricter regulations in regards to wine production and grape varietals than those found in Bordeaux, France. Here, in the home of the world's finest wines, the type and quality of grapes used is of utmost importance, and the legendary wineries which work on the banks of the Gironde river have mastered the careful art of juice blending to find the perfect balance for their produce. A touch of mineral and olives to the fresh blue fruit and blackberries. Perfumed, juicy and very tight-grained on the palate with almost full body and plenty of nicely chewy tannins. Structured and compact in a lengthy finish. Cabernet sauvignon, merlot and petit verdot. Better after 2027.

The 2022 Branas Grand Poujeaux, which includes 5% aged in amphora, is a little more sultry on the nose than expected. It has fine delineation, though, with tobacco-infused black fruit, light incense and sea spray scents unfolding in the glass. It’s very subtle. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine weight and a dash of cracked black pepper, building with a classically styled and quite sapid finish. This is excellent.

The Branas blend is 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot in 2022, and this gives the nose a slightly sweet nose of spiced plum jam, with notes of currant, rose petal, tobacco and liquorice. The palate presents a rather juicy blend of blackcurrant, liquorice, white peach and cinnamon-dusted plum, with an emerging and very dense core of tightly wrapped tannin, all infused with notes of tobacco and smouldering charcoal. It finishes with a huge weight of tannin though, dominating the length. This is a Moulis punching above its weight, for sure, and one I can see rewarding a decade or more in the cellar. The alcohol on the label is 14.5%.

Cassis, graphite, classy oak, and violet notes all emerge from the 2022 Château Branas Grand Poujeaux, a richly textured, medium to full-bodied, concentrated Moulis that has beautiful tannins, integrated background oak, and a great finish. It needs 4-5 years in the cellar and will unquestionably put a smile on your face over the following 10-12+ years.
