A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, the 2001 d’Armailhac is the only vintage made without any Cabernet Franc. It is medium to deep garnet-brick in color and offers subtle notes of tilled soil, truffles, and bay leaves, leading to a core of spice cake, prunes, and dried figs, with a hint of leather. The light to medium-bodied palate delivers bags of freshness with tons of minerals and a powdery texture, finishing on a lingering ferrous note.
