A gorgeous Fronsac, the 2023 Château De La Riviere is based on 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Malbec and aged 12 months in French oak (35% new). Black cherries, cassis, graphite, and spring flowers all emerge from this beauty, and it’s medium-bodied, with a pure, graceful mouthfeel, fine, polished tannins, and a great finish. It will keep for 10-15 years if you’re so inclined. Drink 2026-2038.
