Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

Good dark red with ruby highlights. Deep, brooding aromas of black fruits, minerals and dark chocolate. Lush, sweet and layered, conveying a strong impression of sucrosité, but a rose petal quality gives the wine an unexpected light touch (and it’s also bone-dry at under one gram per liter residual sugar, according to François Labet). The wine’s richness is nicely leavened by a note of wild herbs and sound acidity. Finishes with plush, broad tannins and lovely lift and length. When I asked Labet when he would drink this wine, he responded: “Tonight.” But he added that it will probably close up in bottle.

Burghound
There is now a touch of secondary character to the ripe aromas of plum, cassis, violet, spice, earth and tea nuances that are trimmed in a whiff of polished leather. There is excellent intensity and power to the concentrated and suave middle weight flavors that possess an abundance of dry extract that pushes the still moderately firm core of tannins to the background on the lightly austere, complex and wonderfully long finish where a touch of warmth eventually appears. This is reasonably well-balanced and while it's still quite firm it's not hard or rustic. I actually quite like this though with that duly noted, it would be fair to say that 2013 is not a particularly refined vintage for the domaine.

the 2013 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru from Château de la Tour has a "placid" bouquet that is minding its own business. It is nicely defined, but you get the feeling that it is holding something back. With a little aeration it reveals attractive blackcurrant pastille and Morello cherry scents, then later, a hint of dried orange peel. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. There is good density and weight here, appreciable mineralité although the finish is reticent for the time being. Give this a 3-4 years in bottle and you will have a very fine Clos Vougeot.
