Ripe and decidedly floral-suffused aromas include those of dark raspberry, spice and earth that are trimmed in enough wood to notice. The supple, round and delicious middleweight flavors are not especially dense though they do display focused power on the moderately austere, firm and bitter pit fruit-inflected finish that offers fine length. Though there is a hint of backend warmth, overall I like the balance and this is a wine that should age well but is not so compact and backward that it couldn’t be reasonably approached after 6 to 8 years.
