The tension here comes from chalky tannins and lovely tobacco, herbs, cedar and cigar-box character. Currants and blue fruits. It's medium-bodied with lovely fruit and light-citrus bitterness. Firm and intense with an excellent finish. One of the best Duharts I have tasted. Try after 2028.

The 2022 Duhart-Milon is showing beautifully, bursting from the glass with aromas of mulberries, blackcurrants, pencil shavings and rose petal. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and textural, it's sweet and layered, with a gourmand core of fruit underpinned by powdery tannins and lively acids. A decade ago, Duhart could be a somewhat austere wine, but today it's much more integrated and harmonious. The 2022 is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Merlot.

The 2022 Duhart-Milon is a big, rich wine. Ample and expansive on the palate, it has so much to offer. Cabernet Sauvignon takes center stage as dark-toned fruit, graphite and expressive savory nuances open with aeration. Huge swaths of creamy tannins wrap it all together, building to a substantial, explosive finish. The 2022 is an impressive Duhart.

Black truffle, liquorice, and sweet black cherries lead the nose, with sticky black fruit and soft floral touches. Smooth and supple, this wine brims with energy and bounce, driven by striking acidity that makes it incredibly juicy and alive. Crisp yet round, it feels fresh and lifted. Cabernet Sauvignon makes its mark on the back palate, adding mint, liquorice spice, and a touch of cedar. The brightness of the fruit lingers beautifully, creating a moreish, vibrant, and dynamic wine. Layered yet easy to appreciate, with minty freshness, spice, and tartness adding nuance. A lively, deliciously drinkable wine.

This is 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 22% Merlot, mostly from the heart of the plateau of Duhart-Milon, and the élevage was in 50% new oak with 50% second-fill barrels. This opens with a dark and smoky nose, filled with lightly crystalline and desiccated berry fruits, cranberry and currant, touched with notes of rosemary, pomegranate and peony, all swirled with a touch of oak. The palate feels lightly poised, carefree and rather juicy, with rather crystalline fruit reflecting the character on the nose, along with a charming sense of freshness. It finishes firm, gripped and juicy, with a fine spindle of peppery tannins running through the length. A rather fresh and joyful interpretation of the vintage which reminds me of the 2014 vintage more than anything grander. Tasted twice. The alcohol on the label is 13.5%.
