Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

There are few regions in the world with stricter regulations in regards to wine production and grape varietals than those found in Bordeaux, France. Awesome aromatics of black cherries, saddle leather, savory flowers, and incense emerge from the 2022 Château La Fleur-Petrus, another riveting wine in the vintage that brings incredible intensity while at the same time staying elegant, seamless, and flawlessly balanced. A blend of 97% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot, this full-bodied, seamless Pomerol has fine yet building tannins, beautiful mid-palate depth, and a great finish. It picks up more and more classic La Fleur Petrus floral and spicy nuances with time in the glass, and it will have three decades of prime drinking ahead of it. It will be fun to compare this with the 2020 over the coming decades.

A very opulent and extravagant red with dark plums, spices and lifted cedar. The palate is full-bodied yet very tight with endless tannins that are integrated and polished, bringing form and verve to this young wine. 96.5% merlot, 3% cabernet franc and 0.5% petit verdot. Try after 2030.

This is nicely loaded, with warmed raspberry compote, boysenberry pâte de fruit and damson plum coulis notes in the mix, along with streaks of tobacco leaf, chestnut leaf and graphite. The long finish shows a great underlying tug of warm earth. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2027 through 2042.

The Wine Independent
A flagship wine from the Moueix family, this is 97% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. Beautifully dark and cool aromatics on the nose, black cherry and damson, with a floral rose-petal edge, but plenty of toast, cigar box and smoky oak elements as well. Supple and polished on the palate, this presents a silky texture of fruit, dark cherries and black stone fruit swirled with dark chocolate, black peppercorn and toast, draped seductively over a frame of tightly knit and powdery tannins. This is silky and seductive, and only in the finish does the rich substance of the tannins show through. Very stylish, with beautiful construct, this is set to evolve great style over the next couple of decades.

The 2022 La Fleur-Pétrus has an opulent, ripe bouquet of blackberry, liquorice and brown spices, with a little heady alcohol here. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit and rounded tannins, quite plush, and there is a veneer of dark chocolate towards the finish. Quite modern in style, but it pulls it off with flair. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting in London.

In bottle, the 2022 La Fleur-Pétrus is broad and unctuous, offering up aromas of Agen prunes, dark berries and cherries mingled with notions of sweet spices, licorice and raisin fruitcake. Full-bodied, rich and chocolaty, it's ripe and heady, with an ample core of fruit and a sweet, lingering finish. The warmth and sunshine of the vintage is on full display.
