There are few regions in the world with stricter regulations in regards to wine production and grape varietals than those found in Bordeaux, France. Here, in the home of the world's finest wines, the type and quality of grapes used is of utmost importance, and the legendary wineries which work on the banks of the Gironde river have mastered the careful art of juice blending to find the perfect balance for their produce. This is very rich for the vintage with a dried-berry and chocolate character. Full and rich with velvety tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Intense and decadent for the vintage. Very well done. I like it better than the 2010. Better in 2018.

Soft and fruity, this is a wine that already shows attractive, ripe fruitiness. Black currants and a mineral texture add bite, allowing the tannins to fill out the core. This is a wine for medium-term aging.

The oak is smoky and seductive, and is a good choice for a 2011 that is ready to drink now. The emphasis is very much on raspberry and black cherry fruits - it's enjoyable, but lacks depth through the mid palate and has less appellation typicity than some. A good moment to drink.
