Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

The 2019 Volnay Village has turned out very nicely, mingling aromas of cherries and raspberries with hints of forest floor and toasty new oak. Medium-bodied, lively and charming, with lively acids and melting tannins, it's an elegant, sumptuous Volnay that as usual incorporates declassified premier cru fruit.

The 2019 Volnay Village offers ample red cherry and raspberry on the pure and inviting bouquet. The oak is nicely integrated here. The palate is sweet and candied on the entry, with touches of orange zest and marmalade. My only quibble is that it cuts away too swiftly on the finish and leaves you wanting more.

Moderate wood influence can be found on the pretty and markedly spicy nose features notes of both red and dark cherry that are trimmed in hints of lavender. The delicious and vibrant middle weight flavors possess a beguiling underlying tension before culminating in a youthfully austere finish that exhibits a bracing touch of salinity. This is excellent for its level and worth checking out.
Winery Notes
The fine Pinot Noir of Volnay is expressed here with delicate complexity. The terroir gives a round wine with red current and spice characters. A full-bodied wine, vigorous and elegant, able to be drunk relatively early or after a few years aging. Pairs well with roast beef, chicken and hard cheeses. The wine is aged for 15 months in French oak barrels (33% new).
