Wood spice and pungent earth notes add breadth to the ripe and largely red fruit-based nose. The big, powerful and concentrated flavors possess plenty of sap that helps to buffer the mildly rustic and very firm tannic spine that shapes the driving and energetic finish. This should be excellent in time but it will need plenty of it. (Burghound)
