The 2022 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru offers orange cordial, lime and wild peach on the nose that is very forthcoming, though lacks a bit of minéralité and terroir expression. The palate is balanced with peach and clementine on the entry. Fine acidity and well-integrated oak; this feels like a well-made wine from fruit that was not necessarily top notch. Drink over the next 12 to 15 years. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Of all the white wine grape varietals, surely the one that has spread the furthest and is most widely appreciated is Chardonnay.
