The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Village, taken from barrel, is a blend of La Justice, Clos Prieur and several others. There are 19 berries here instead of 12, 20% whole cluster fruit and 20% new oak. The crisp, pure bouquet of red currant and cranberry scents is laced with crushed stone and a touch of mint. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy black fruit, slightly tarry in style. The masculine, rather sinewy finish will benefit from a couple of years in bottle.
