Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

A brooding but fresh nose trimmed in a bit of wood spice offers positively gorgeous aromatic breadth and merges into intense, well muscled and very focused full-bodied and overtly powerful flavors that are concentrated and very firmly structured yet the structure is almost completely buffered by the buckets of extract that confer an almost velvety quality to the hugely long finish. This is still very primary and will require the better part of two decades to really be arrive at its full potential. A seriously impressive Cham that is brilliantly balanced. Wow!

Deep, youthful red. Deep aromas of black cherry, dark berries and licorice, complicated by a hint of menthol (but no greenness), leathery and meaty nuances, and a faint liqueur-like warmth. Quite fleshy, broad and rich, with its dark fruit and mineral flavors conveying a distinctly spicy quality. This doesn't quite display the high notes of the 2008 but then it's a sunnier style of wine. Compellingly full in the mouth and evolving very slowly. Finishes sappy and very long, with serious youthful tannins that avoid dryness but could still use more time to round out. (13.25% alcohol; 38.5 h/h; 3.48 pH, 3.6 g/ acidity;
vinified with 60% whole clusters, which Trapet described as "a little high" for him)

The Trapet 2005 Chambertin comes from three (I am told) geologically distinct parcels. Bitter-sweet cherry, anisette, and mocha scent the nose. In the mouth this is undeniably expansive and rich, with complexities of gamey meatiness and humus mingling with its sweet berry fruit. Whether it is some negative synergy with the barrel or just the result of recent bottling, I find a slight sour streak in the finish. But a small (and hopefully fleeting) blemish can be easily hidden amid such folds of fruit, viscosity and abundant, fine-grained tannin as are on display . This is perfect for those who want a friendly bear of a Burgundy they can hug – preferably in around ten years’ time.
