Burghound

Generous wood is sufficiently prominent to all but overshadow the very ripe aromas of mocha, plum liqueur and warm earth. There is excellent richness and volume to the dense and powerful broad-shouldered flavors where the abundant dry extract imparts a sappy texture as well as buffers the very firm tannic spine shaping the impressively long and well-balanced finale. This clearly needs to more fully integrate its wood, but the necessary concentration appears to be present for that to occur. I would further note that this is less austere than is typical for a young Corton and as such it could probably be approached after only 7 to 8 years.
