The region itself is a sizeable one, covering an area of sixty thousand hectares, and within this space there resides over two hundred individual wineries, ranging from small, independent and traditional ones to the larger, mass production bodegas known around the world. The terroir of Catalunya is varied, and ranges from being dry and arid, to more lush and green in the wetter parts of the region which are closer to the coast. This variation in terroir results in a fantastic range of grape varietals being grown, and a wide range of wine styles are produced within Catalunya.

The balsamic and waxy 2025 Garnatxa Blanca is a clean and textbook varietal, already clean and expressive even at this early stage. It's from different vineyards in Batea an is versatile and fresh, with 13% alcohol, a pH of 3.1 and 5.5 grams of acidity. Tasty and vibrant, it's a bargain. 120,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2026.

Winery Notes

Made from a mix of old and young vines grown on sandy and chalky soils around Batea and Gandesa, the Garnatxa Blanca from Herència Altés is harvested by hand early to retain the grape’s natural acidity then fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve its freshness. 50,000 bottles are produced in an average vintage.
