Gold color. Aromas and flavors of honey and toasted vienna malt, white flowers and oak dust, orange marmalade, and apricot butter with a round, crisp, dry medium-to-full body and a warming, elegant, medium-long finish evoking accents of honey and lemon bundt cake, ginger, green tea, and red berries, white flowers, and toasted multi grain bread and nuts. Depth and complexity of aromas and flavors balanced with a harmonious honey sweetness throughout; perfectly demonstrating the finesse of blended Whiskies.

Japan

All over Japan, farmers and wine producers take the production of alcoholic beverages including plum wine and sake very seriously. It is an industry which dates back well over a thousand years, and is held in high esteem in this far east country, where plum wines and sake often accompany meals and are used for ceremonial purposes. Whilst plum wine is produced in a relatively similar way to grape based wines, sake requires a complex process more akin to the brewing of beer, except using a rice mash instead of other grains. The rising popularity of both of these drinks in the west has seen the drinks industry in Japan increase dramatically over recent years, and both quality and quantity has risen alongside demand, and is expected to rise further.

Presenting a captivating golden hue, this whisky entices with aromas of white caramel, ginger candy, roasted hazelnuts, and a touch of sweet cream. The palate unfolds with flavors of baked Asian pears, golden cherries, maple, and cloves. - 2023 ULTIMATE SPIRITS CHALLENGE

The newest blended whisky offering from Hibiki is burnished gold in the glass and has a bold aroma that mixes vanilla, fresh pear and a hint of smoke. The smokiness comes forward at the first sip, wrapping around a core of oak and vanilla custard and finishing long, with a mouthwatering bitter chocolate note.

Whisky Advocate

Poised and complex, with typically lifted fruitiness: strawberry ice cream, pineapple, peach, balanced by delicate oak, bamboo shoot-like delicacy, then lemon. The palate is more rounded than that very forward nose, with toffee notes adding some weight. A touch of smoke comes along in the mid-palate, before fruits and caramelized coffee biscuits. Water allows the flavors to flood the palate. Exemplary blending skills and classically Hibiki. - Winter 2015

Winery Notes

Luminous. Delicate. A transparency that unveils complexity. Color: Amber. Nose: Rose, lychee, hint of rosemary, mature woodiness, sandalwood. Palate: Honey like sweetness, candied orange peel, white chocolate. Finish: Subtle, tender long finish, with hint of Mizunara (Japanese oak).
