Le Cul de Beaujeu lies in front of the Monts Damnés, facing east. The soil is Kimmeridgian with small fossil seashells, on slopes up to 45 degrees. Brochard own 0.5ha in Beaujeu. The wine is matured for 12 months, half in barrel, half in amphorae. Already drinking beautifully with a forward, fruity and fleshy style, there is so much concentration on the palate that it would be a shame not to let this develop for several years. The warmth on the palate is cut by the fresh acidity. Long and lingering finish.

The 2022 Le Cul de Beaujeu is textural, open, savory, nutty and nuanced. While rounded by its maturation (50% old barrels and 50% Italian amphora), it retains its shape and line on the finish with a corridor-like line tightening the wine. The finish is long and interesting.
